In order to provide better and more accurate dental care, New Image Dentistry uses digital dental X-Rays. For the patient, these digital images are much faster, and more comfortable. In addition, the digitally captured image helps the dentists to make more accurate diagnoses.

Procedure

We place a small sensor in your mouth. The sensor is connected to a computer by a thin wire. Next, an X-ray beam is sent through your teeth and into the sensor, which records the image of your teeth and sends it to the computer. The sensor can then be repositioned to photograph other sections of your teeth.

A small sensor, which is connected to a computer by a thin wire, is placed in the mouth. Then the dentist sends an X-ray beam through the teeth and into the sensor. The sensor then records an image of the teeth and sends it back to the computer. In order to photograph all of the necessary areas, the censor is moved around.

Benefits of digital X-rays

There are several benefits to this method of X-rays. First, it is safer and more convenient for you. The radiation that a patient is exposed to during the x-ray is reduced with digital X-rays. Also, it’s faster. The dentists do not need to wait for the X-ray to develop – the computer image only takes 2.5 seconds.

Digital X-rays also help the dentist to give you the best care possible. Since traditional film can lose its quality over time, digital dental X-rays are stored on a computer so that your history as a patient stays intact. Also, because it is a computer image, there is the possibility to enlarge the image and zoom in on certain areas so that your dentist can be sure the right diagnoses is made.

Digital Panorex Machine

These digital X-rays are taken with a machine that moves in a half-circle in order to capture the entire oral cavity in a “panoramic” picture. These Panorex X-Rays are generally only needed on the first visit, and have the same benefits as the digital X-rays.
