Invisalign® is an interesting alternative to standard braces. These invisible braces use a series of clear, comfortable (and removable) aligners to straighten teeth.

Advantages over traditional orthodontics:
-Therapy is 20% faster than normal braces
-Removable – no yellow stains after braces brackets are removed
-Able to eat, drink, brush, floss normally
-Less soreness in the mouth
- Decreased pressure on teeth

Procedure

New Image Dentistry offers Invisalign consultations at no cost to see if a patient is a candidate for the treatment. Not everyone is a candidate, and we also make referrals to area orthodontists for patients who need extensive treatment.
If the patient is a candidate, impressions are taken. These, along with pictures, are sent to a lab that analyzes them and manufactures the Invisalign retainers. About a month later, the patient will receive all of the retainers, with directions concerning the uses of Invisalign.

We will see patients about once a month for evaluations and patients are able to ask any questions or voice any concerns about the treatment. At the end of the 9-18 months, the patient is fitted with a night-time retainer.
